1980s:

Foundation in Public Markets

Our journey began with the coordination of an IPO for a steel manufacturing company based in Central India—marking our first steps into the public markets.

1990s:

Industrial Experience & Entrepreneurial Shift

During this decade, our team gained hands-on experience across diverse manufacturing sectors and geographies in India. Our founder was part of the core team that established a cotton-spinning mill for the House of Birla—an experience that deepened our operational insight. In the early 1990s, we took a decisive entrepreneurial leap by founding our own investment banking firm.

CHIEF MENTOR

Diwakar Gandhi

Diwakar Gandhi (DBG) is a respected and widely recognized figure in India’s corporate and capital markets landscape. A senior fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, he brings 40+ years of experience since beginning his career in finance in 1982. He later transitioned into capital markets, establishing deep expertise as a merchant banker.

Navigating both industry trends and market cycles, DBG has developed a keen acumen for sourcing and negotiating high-impact private equity deals—particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India, as well as select offshore markets. His strategic insight, coupled with a grassroots approach, has earned him a reputation as a trusted dealmaker and mentor.

PRESIDENT

Ashok Kumar Bansal

Ashok Kumar Bansal brings over 25 years of diverse experience across finance, accounting, corporate affairs, risk management, and regulatory compliance. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and a law graduate.

Before joining India Emerging Private Equity Group, he served as Vice President – Operations & Compliance at a stockbroking firm in New Delhi. Prior to that, he was Head of Finance & Corporate Governance at a listed NBFC, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s successful IPO.

Abhinav Hansaria

Abhinav Hansaria is a seasoned legal advisor with 15 years of experience and an Advocate-on-Record in the Supreme Court of India, recognized for his sharp legal insight and client-centric approach. With a solid foundation in law and a deep understanding of the regulatory framework, Abhinav offers strategic legal guidance across a broad spectrum of practice areas, including corporate law, contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and compliance matters.

Abhineet Gupta is a seasoned finance professional with deep knowledge of accounting standards, capital markets, and investment regulations. His expertise in investment strategies and risk-managed execution brings significant value to the Group’s treasury operations and portfolio performance.

Riya Gandhi Modi

Riya Gandhi Mody has over 15 years of experience in private equity, capital markets, financial restructuring, and strategic marketing. She is responsible for portfolio monitoring, strategy execution, and public relations. Riya has played a pivotal role in closing three successful private equity transactions. Prior to joining India Emerging Private Equity Group, she served as a Senior Finance Strategist at a leading IT company, where she managed the planning and execution of the company’s IPO.

Muskan Ratra

Muskan Ratra is a seasoned compliance leader specializing in capital markets, private equity, and IPO advisory. As Head of Compliance at India Emerging, she oversees regulatory governance across investment activities, fund operations, and public market transactions. With deep expertise in SEBI, Preferential Issue, and IPO readiness frameworks, Muskan ensures end-to-end compliance from deal origination to exit.

Deepal Gandhi Hansaria

With a Master of Law from University College London and over a decade of experience in business strategy, Deepal brings a sharp blend of legal, strategic, and digital expertise to the team. Her global outlook is shaped by studies at Harvard, LSE, and a finishing school in Switzerland. At India Emerging, she leads incubation efforts, supporting early-stage ventures and MSMEs through go-to-market planning, brand building, and digital alignment.
